SINGAPORE TINT REGULATIONS


The Singapore Land Transport Authority (LTA) Regulations state that:

  • Window film must not be of the reflective type.
  • The resultant light transmittance for the front windscreen and two front side windows must be at least 70%.
  • The resultant light transmittance for the rear windscreen and the rear passenger windows must be at least 25%.
  • The front windscreen must not prevent, obstruct or interfere with the transmission of signals between the In-vehicle Unit (IU) and Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) facility.

Most cars come with a certain level of tint at the time of manufacture. Therefore the most prudent way of ascertaining what type of films your car need in order to pass LTA requirements is to get a Tint Test done. We would certainly encourage you to get a Tint Test done to understand what degree of visibility is required for the film to meet legal requirements.
